| 피지컬AI, 국가전략산업으로 육성…M.AX 가속화 |

휴머노이드로 대표되는 AI 로봇은 산업과 일상의 대변혁을 가져올 수 있는 피지컬 AI의 핵심 산업으로 꼽힌다. 정부는 한국의 강점인 주력 제조업과 로봇산업의 시너지 극대화를 위해 제조업 AI 전환(M.AX)을 가속화하기로 했다. M.AX 얼라이언스를 중심으로 업종별 특화 AI 로봇을 개발하고 매년 1000대 이상 현장에 보급할 예정이다.
AI와 부품 등 핵심 요소기술의 경쟁력 확보에도 나선다. 10대 업종별 데이터팩토리를 구축해 AI 로봇 학습에 필요한 학습 데이터를 확보하고 이를 통해 로봇 파운데이션 모델의 해외 의존도를 낮춘다. 국산화율이 낮은 액츄에이터, 로봇손, 센서 등 3대 취약 부품에 대한 R&D 투자도 확대하고, 로봇 특성화대학원 선정 등을 통해 향후 5년간 AI 로봇 전문인력 1만명을 양성하기로 했다.
중국 등 경쟁국들의 휴머노이드 양산 추세에 대응하기 위해선 한국도 양산 체계를 지역 중심으로 빠르게 구축할 방침이다. 현대차 그룹의 투자를 마중물로 새만금에 로봇 파운드리와 부품 클러스터를 조성하고, 대경권에 소재한 자동차, 가전 부품기업들이 로봇 부품기업으로 전환할 수 있도록 관련 기술 개발·실증을 지원한다. 정부가 앞장서 교육과 국방, 재난대응 등을 위한 로봇을 선제 구매해 초기 시장을 창출하는 한편, 국민성장펀드 등을 통해 신증설 투자자금도 지원할 계획이다.
